On the southern side of the island lays nothing but the Mediterranean Sea, whereas its northern side is separated from Corsica by the Strait of Bonifacio. Its rectangular shape is comparable to the print left by an antique “sandalo” on the sand (from whence comes the antique denomination “sandaliotis”, originally in Greek). The island is particularly interesting thanks to its unique ecosystem in the whole Mediterranean Sea. Its magical and evocative atmosphere is rooted in its pristine landscapes, beaches and crystal clear sea waters. All these elements will leave an unforgettable impression on its visitors.
